Security and compliance

Your company's data belongs to your company.

Each company runs in its own database schema at its own random address: the company name is not in the address, and the address cannot be guessed. Everyone sees only what their role allows.

Is this accounting or fixed-asset software?

No. Polc is an operational register: who has the asset, where it is, what state it is in, and who signed for it. It does not calculate depreciation or do bookkeeping: purchase price and insured value can be recorded, but only for information.

Can I bring over my existing spreadsheet?

Yes. Download the CSV import template, paste in your data (Excel can save as CSV too), and upload it. The asset list exports to CSV the same way.

Which label printer do I need for the QR codes?

You can print in two formats: on A4 adhesive label sheets (Avery L7651 layout, 38.1 × 21.2 mm, 65 labels per sheet) and on Brother tape printers (on 24 mm tape the printable band is about 18 mm). A filter in the asset list collects the labels not printed yet.

What happens when an employee leaves?

Their record shows what they still have. With a bulk return you take everything back under one signature, then set their status to “Left”. Their history is kept.

Do I need to install anything?

No. After sign-up your company reaches Polc at its own address, in the browser, on desktop and on mobile alike.
